Lounge in Style
If you’re going to spend time outside, you want to be comfortable. Think about what you want to spend outdoor time doing. Perhaps you plan on lounging outside reading books in the afternoon. Maybe you want a nice social space where you can relax and hang out with friends. Or perhaps you want to create an eating area like a brunch nook, or another space where you can set up food and encourage yourself to eat meals out in the nice weather.
Once you’ve decided your desires for outdoor activities, you can build seating that matches. For fire pit fun, you’ll want chairs that are easy to move closer or further away from the fire. If you plan on reading a lot outdoors, you may want to hang a hammock. If that sounds daunting, here’s a handy guide to setting up hammocks in a variety of methods.
If you love eating outside, make sure to provide some sort of shade for your table, such as an umbrella or small canopy. Match this with durable outdoor cushions for your guests to sink into.
Plant your Paradise
Plants not only look great in your yard, but they’re mood lifters as well! The oxygen that plants emit is great for your body and mind. Create shade by planting large trees around your yard’s perimeter. Place flowers near lounging and eating areas for your guests to enjoy. Think about finding edible plants that also look great. If you‘re really in love with non-edible plants, use them to attract birds and other wildlife. You’ll be creating a haven for yourself as well as nature!
Build in Entertainment
Maybe you like being outside, but you get restless without your computer and TV out there to keep you company. There are workarounds to get technology outside, but I prefer finding more natural things to do. Adding a pool not only provides entertainment for adults and children alike, but it can improve your family’s health as well!
Also consider other features such as a badminton net, a fire pit, and outdoor games like lawn darts, yard dice, and horseshoes
