Once you have chosen your cabinets and removed the old cabinets, install cabinets that sit on the walls first instead of the base cabinets. That way, the base cabinets will not be in the way while you work on the upper cabinets. You will want to put in the corner, or end cabinet first and make sure everything is level. You can check the leveling and add shims where needed. Make sure the cabinet lines up with the wall and ceiling and then you can screw it into the wall studs that you marked after you removed the old cabinets.

Once you have the end, corner cabinet in place, you can begin to install cabinets around it. Clamp the cabinets together and check the leveling of the latest cabinet. You can tap shims around the new cabinet to make any adjustments you need to make.

As you secure each cabinet, make sure you drill the screws directly into the studs. Try to hit as close to the center of the stud as possible for every further security. You will also want to make sure you go through any shims you have placed when you drill through the back of the cabinet. You can trim away the extra material around the cabinet later so do not worry what it looks like initially.

After you have worked in install cabinets process and have all of the cabinets hanging in a level manner, you can work on the finishing touches that will make the overall job look complete. You can put pieces of wood along the top and bottom of the cabinet for a more finished look and to help connect the cabinets to the counter top or you can add crown molding or whatever other details you would like.

If you have any problems with the install cabinets process, make sure to check in with your local home improvement store to ask questions. You can also get details from the manufacturer of the specific cabinet you have chosen. Each installation is different because of the walls and floors in that particular kitchen.
