Compared to traditional bulbs LED lights are much more energy efficient, LEDs are have an approximate efficiency of 80%-90% when compared to most traditional lighting and conventional light bulbs. This means that roughly 80% of the electricity running through the light bulb is being transformed into light energy which makes them much brighter bulbs; and only 20% is being converted into thermal or kinetic energy.
LED lights also have a much longer lifespan than that of conventional light bulbs, which means that they don’t have to be replaced as frequently as ordinary light bulbs; this will save you time and money. LED lights have an expected lifespan of 100,000 operational hours, which is the same as 11 years of being used constantly. Did you know that LED lights don’t break in the same way as other light bulbs? LED lights will gradually dim when they are coming to the end of their lifespan, unlike traditional light bulbs which will blink out unexpectedly.
A minuscule amount of UV light is emitted from LEDs which makes them ideal for use in art galleries and museums; they also produce very little infrared light which means that they are safer around flammable materials. On top of all that LED lights are also capable of being operated on a much lower voltage that than of traditional light bulbs, due to this Led lights can be used in rural areas and outdoor settings where electricity may be of a lower voltage.
There are various methods of subtly incorporating LED lighting into your household, it’s up to you to decide where you want to use the lighting, but if you’re stuck for inspiration: here are some ideas. If you have a relatively small kitchen area compared to the rest of the space within your house, LED lights can make the room look larger than it really is; giving the illusion of there being more space available. LED lights can also be used to light counters that are beneath cupboards and so wouldn’t receive much light any other way.
LED lights are also suitable for porches or verandas, as when evening begins to draw near you don’t want to find yourself sat outside with dark closing in on all sides; small garden lights can be useful but they don’t produce as much light as an LED and they cost just as much in the majority of retail stores. If you have an infant or toddler at home with you LED Christmas lights or fairy lights are ideal for helping your child develop by encouraging your child to sleep without a main light on; they can be wrapped around the bed or headboard in a pattern or your choice. Fairy lights are also very decorative and will reduce electricity bills even if left on all day by your child.
One of the most creative methods of using fair lights or string LED lights is to arrange the string lights into different patterns and tape the patterns to your ceiling; this way when it gets dark the lit fairy lights will mimic stars.
There are various other ways in which you can use Led lighting within your home, for more information visit your local DIY store or rather than visiting the store, inquire online.
