What to do if you happen to spill paint on your carpet

Water Based Paint
If you do happen to spill water based product on the carpet, there is a relatively straightforward technique you can use to clean the stain. Use a tool to scrape as much of the spill from the carpet as possible, being careful not to spread the color into a larger stain. Oil Based Paint

First, read the paint container to see if there are any recommendations for which type of paint thinner would work best for that specific type of color. If there aren’t any recommendations, then use turpentine, as this works well for removing oil based paints. Apply the turpentine to the area and soak it up with a clean, dry spotter cloth. Once the stain is removed, rinse the area with warm water, and allow it to dry.
